TEENANGER TOUCHING GLASS

‘Touching Glass’ is the latest release from Canadian post-punk four-piece Teenanger. Unique percussion combines with a bouncy bassline to give off an uplifting poppy vibe that we’re all craving these days. Vocalist Melissa Ball uses her distinctive voice to provide leftfield melodies that somehow blend perfectly into the sparse texture. She explains that the lyrics came when she was “thinking about John Carpenter's 1988 classic "They Live” before I wrote these lyrics so I guess I had that plot in the back of my mind. It's pretty straight forward lyrically and partly about the fear of mind control and my frustrations with being tethered to/tired with my phone.” Having dropped their fifth album back in 2017, Teenanger have become a staple in the post-punk world and won’t be going anywhere. - Dan Peeke
